Don't like that color??

***Free earring giveaway is still going on!  :-)  Be sure to advantage of this great giveaway!***

I just posted new items to the store!
A couple of the items I posted I am making it so you can change the color if you want to.

A new item I added are Spirit Earrings.  When I was still in High School, I would love to dress up for Spirit day!  What would be a better addition than earrings!  Just convo me the colors of your school and I can make them.  I have posted two pairs that I made for a co-worker's daughter.  Her colors are purple and gold.
You don't even have to be in High school to get a custom pair!  Feel like supporting your favorite college team??

I also added a necklace.  Its one of my 'in the box' necklaces.  I featured it in dark blue.  However, you can have it Green, purple or pink!  Or a mixture if you want.  Again, all you have to do is convo me and I will be more than happy to do so!

So if you want to know if I can change the color of anything, just ask!
Happy Shopping!!  :-)

Today also is when I leave for the beach!!  (I know that I didn't plan it too well) But I was very eager to start the giveaway!  On this beach trip I will keep my eyes out for pieces of coral!  A month ago I wen to the beach with my sisters, Mom and all my nieces and nephews.  On that trip I found a couple pieces of coral that I eventually made into necklaces.  But this trip is with friends and I plan on finding more coral!  Don't worry, I'm only going to get what washes up on shore.

Adventurine and Turquoise!!

Hey!!!

Sorry its been a while!  While making more stuff for the store, I've realized that I just can't get enough of some Turquoise!  I bought some turquoise beads on wholesale about a year ago and recently started using them alot!!!  Love it!  Turquoise is a color that translates well from Spring to Summer to Fall!!
Another stone that I am becoming obsessed with is Adventurine!!  Adventurine is a semi-precious stone.  It has a beautiful deep green color.  It pairs great with shell and silver!

Check out what I've been working on!

More news to come!!!

I plan on posting all my new items on Wednesday!!!  I'm very excited to be finally showing all my new stuff that I have been working on.  I will also be posting my first set of headbands that I am making.  I think these will be a great addition to my line of jewelry/accessories.

Another addition will be Baby Carrier Covers.  I'm very excited to make these!!  I don't want to spill the beans too much about them, but lets just say that they are very handy!!!  I was inspired to make these after seeing my cousin and her baby on my last vacation.

I will be writing again very soon with more updates on what you can expect (and with pictures!).  What you can also look forward to is a giveaway!

Vacation!

Love Vacation?  Me too!!  I have been lucky enough to be on vacation for a number of weeks with my family.  I love seeing my family!  However, vacation usually pushes my jewelry making back.  Luckily I have been able to make some cool pieces.  I decided to use the beach as my inspiration.  In June I went with my some of my family to Panama City Beach, FL.  We all had a wonderful time!  I decided to collect unique and beautiful shells.  With help from two of my sisters and some of my nieces and nephews, I was able to collect some very interesting shells.  Thankfully all, or most, of the shells I got, I will be able to use.  While traveling to see my out of state family, I was able to make use of these shells in some jewelry!!  These pics will be posted as soon as possible!

Another addition to the Some Kind Of Pretty collection is headbands!!  I found inspiration while on vacation to the mountains.  These headbands with made from fabric with elastic around the back.  One size fits all!  (or most)  I'm making some in bright colors which are perfect for Summer and for going back to school!!  Also, for those not into bright colors, I'm making some that are in more muted tones.

I will post pics of these new items on here as soon as I can!  :)

Here it goes!!

This is the first blog for my, hopefully, growing store: Some Kind of Pretty!  Some of you may already know who I am!  However, for those who do not, I will let you know.  I am currently a college student and graduating very soon with my BBA in Management.  I have been making jewelry for almost my entire life.  Its a hobby that I picked up as a child when my oldest sister gave me beaded bobby pin kit for Christmas.  Since then its been a love of mine!  Only until recently have I been confident enough in my ability to sell it to the public.  The town I live in had a craft/art show for all local artists.  I decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to start my business.  With help from my mom and sister, I was able to pull together a very attractive booth.  I selected a plot right across from my college's art demonstrations.  Despite the gusts of wind, I ended up having a very successful afternoon.  With this promising start I decided to take my jewelry to cyber space!!

Making jewelry is a love of mine that I will never give up.  I hope you enjoy my jewelry as much as I enjoyed making it.  Don't forget to visit me on Etsy : SomeKindOfPretty or on Facebook : Pretty Little Things.
